In this study we want to know how men interact with their guy friends and how they view their friendships with each other. In the past, research has focused primarily on friendships between just two people (rather than among a group), and usually between two women, or between a woman and a man. That's what makes our study different - we are specifically adding a group component, allowing groups of men to participate together, and also measuring individual men’s feelings and attitudes toward these friendships.
There are two ways to participate in this study:
The Individual Survey is an online questionnaire which can be filled out on your own and normally takes around 10-20 minutes to complete. You can find a link under the Individual Surveytab of this site.
The other way to participate is to take part in a Group Interview. For the group interview, you will video record yourself and up to four of your closest guy friends answering a few discussion questions. Guidelines for the webcam portion of this study can be found under the Group Interviewtab.
You have the option of completing the individual survey, the group interview, or both depending on your desire and ability to take part in our research.
*To participate in this study you must be an English speaking male between the ages of 18 and 29.
